Product Certification

AF Holding’s goal is to simplify the product certification process for you from the start. We give you all the necessary specifications, process all the necessary paperwork involved, pre-test the product, and acquire the certificate. Our range of expertise includes Mexican NOM’s(Mexico), European CE’s, Chinese CCC’s, and the IECEE CB Scheme (which is applicable in over 50 countries). We execute this goal quickly, efficiently, and effectively.

As an example of our worldwide services, we will use Mexico as a case study. Whether you intend to import into or export into Mexico, transport through, sell in, or use your products in the country of Mexico, you must adhere to the rules dictated by the associated NOM’s’ requirements. AF Holding will help you get what you need to operate lawfully in Mexico.

Products’ certifications are in effect for 12 months, upon which you can apply for a renewal of the certificate. Sometimes the product needs to be re-tested, but what the Mexican government does is merely a verification of the existing certificate’s validity. During the first 12 months, the Mexican government canvasses the marketplace for your product and might arbitrarily carry out testing on it, to make sure the actual in-store product’s testing result matches the testing result of the sample that was originally granted the certification.

The cost of certification can vary. Some products call for various tests that sometimes necessitate the use of complex equipment, leading to an understandable increasing of the cost. During testing, if some products are grouped with other, similar products with the same specs, that would then reduce the overall testing cost per unit of the grouped products, by allowing AF Holding to overall conduct a vastly reduced number of tests.

If you are an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and require a certificate for each of your importers, contact AF Holding to guide you in obtaining ownership extensions.

AF Holding can expedite your product certification process. AF Holding has far-reaching experts at the ready. We eliminate middle parties, proactively eliminate potential errors, and are very systematic in our approach. AF Holding will guide you thoroughly along the process, as you begin to either enter the Mexican market or any other overseas market for the very first time, or whenever you realize your company needs to improve your existing compliance processes, thus leading you to save both time and money.

Ownership

Again, while AF Holding can assist the exporter into many overseas markets, we will again use Mexico as a case study example of our services. All importers must submit a certificate in their name to be able to import into Mexico. This same importing party must be the party listed as the NOM trademark holder. The importer must be both a legal Mexican business entity and have an importers license. Exporters without Mexican subsidiaries will not be able to ship products into Mexico without having either the consignee or a third party import these products on their behalf. The Importer of Record is the party that will handle the customs clearance. It could be the shipper or the consignee. Or, it can be a third party like us at AF Holding.

We at AF Holding can act on your behalf in order to ship products, clear customs, pay duty, and to ship your products to your warehouse and/or to your retailer, and to inventory your products in a competent shipping and storage facility.
